A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. (Central Time) Sunday December 3, 2017 at the Pulliam Funeral Home 302 E. Main St. Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Oblong American Legion Post #219.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jerry Kirk Henry 83, Vincennes, IN formerly of Oblong, IL passed away on Tuesday November 28, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN.
Jerry was born on September 29, 1934 in Muskegon, MI and was the son of Glenn Henry and Marjorie (Kirk) Henry. On February 9, 1974 he married Joyce Bond who survives. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage.
Jerry was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 – 1958 at the US Naval Base in Key West, FL. Jerry had a passion for farming. He was a Farm Loan Officer at both the First National Bank in Oblong, IL for 17 years and also at the Crawford County State Bank in Robinson, IL for 13 years. He retired on December 31, 1993 and continued to farm until his health failed. He enjoyed model railroading, fishing, working in the yard and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Jerry was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Vincennes, IN.
Jerry is survived by his wife Joyce Henry of Vincennes, IN; a son and daughter-in-law Rev. Gary J. and Brenda Henry of Ashland, KY; a daughter and son-in-law Janet K and Dave Whikehart of Findlay, OH; and a stepdaughter, Pamela L Freeland and her fiancé, Dave Baldwin of Mattoon, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law Susan Jane Smith.
